Who are you: CONTACT is a voluntary organisation in the Bradford district, run by and for disabled people, using the Social Approach to disability, to offer confidential support, increase self-esteem and confidence.

Aims & Objectives: CONTACT’s object is to relieve the needs of disabled people, particularly through the provision of a support service.

CONTACT aims to provide disabled people with support on a one-to-one basis to anyone in the Bradford Metropolitan district and considers himself or herself to be disabled. We aim to empower disabled people to become more independent by building their confidence and enabling them to play a larger part in Society, ultimately raising their quality of life.

Activities & Timetables:

CONTACT offers one-to-one support at mutually agreed venues, taking into account any access needs. These are planned on an individual basis

CONTACT offers courses which aim to increase self-awareness and training to become Support Workers. These can be of 6 weeks or 18 weeks duration and are subject to availability of funding.

We also work across the community to create opportunities for disabled people and a more accessible environment

What are your key Annual Activities each year: Annual General Meeting 10th October 2007, 1.00pm to 3.00pm at Carlisle Business Centre.
